AHA Basic Life Support  - BLS for Healthcare Providers

The BLS for Healthcare Providers course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals with the skills to keep people alive until they can be brought to a hospital or be treated with more advanced lifesaving measures.

THE NEW 2020 Edition BOOK IS REQUIRED. Please either purchase a book with your class registration, or have access to one from a friend, your employer, or from school to bring with you to class.

The BLS course covers:

  • adult, child and infant CPR
  • two-rescuer scenarios and use of the bag-valve mask
  • foreign-body airway obstruction (conscious and unconscious)
  • automated external defibrillation (includes child and infant AED update)
  • special resuscitation situations
  • other cardiopulmonary emergencies
  • stroke and cardiac arrest

BLS training is intended for healthcare professionals, including:

  • physicians
  • nurses
  • paramedics
  • emergency medical technicians
  • respiratory, physical, and occupational therapists
  • physician’s assistants
  • residents or fellows
  • medical or nursing students in training
  • aides, medical or nursing assistants, and other allied health personnel

Students must pass a written exam and skills test in order to qualify for a BLS for Healthcare Provider Course Completion eCard.

Need a class for 6 or more students?  Let us help you organize a group class!

We provide two options for group classes with a minimum of 6 registered students:

  1. Onsite classes - We come to you!
  2. Private classes - Come to our facility! You schedule the date and time.

Replacement Cards 

Please call our office at 973-989-3213.  We will verify your information; and with payment, print and mail a duplicate card.  For BLS Healthcare Provider and Heartsaver CPR/AED and/or HeartSaver First Aid, replacement card cost is $10.00.  For ACLS and PALS replacement card cost is $15.00.
