Resuscitation in Action – PALS

This comprehensive resuscitation course is intended to be a follow up to the American Red Cross PALS course via Healthstream. It is specifically designed for healthcare professionals managing pediatric emergencies in hospital settings. Focusing on Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) guidelines, the curriculum covers rapid assessment, early recognition of life-threatening conditions, and timely interventions for critically ill infants and children. Participants will engage in interactive lectures, realistic simulation scenarios, and case study analyses to refine skills in airway management, rhythm recognition, and medication administration. Emphasis is placed on effective teamwork and communication during pediatric resuscitation, ensuring that learners are equipped to provide swift, evidence-based care in high-stakes situations. Ideal for nurses, physicians, and allied health professionals, this course aims to enhance clinical proficiency and improve patient outcomes in pediatric emergencies.

You should prepare for class by doing the following:

• Review and understand the information in your PALS Provider Manual.
• Complete the American Red Cross PALS online course assigned to you in Healthstream. This assignment is extensive so please allow yourself sufficient time to complete it prior to class.

NOTE: YOU WILL NOT BE ADMITTED TO THE CLASS UNLESS THIS ASSIGNMENT IS COMPLETED.

• Complete your Evaluation at the end of the online portion.
• In-person skills completion may be included as part of the class, however, is not required prior to class.
