Hemodynamics and the Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump 

This class is designed to provide Critical Care nurses, working in ICU, Cath Lab, or SCTU with the understanding of Hemodynamic values and waveforms associated with management of a patient with an IABP. Participants should have a basic knowledge of hemodynamics prior to attending the class. Topics include theory and timing of counter-pulsation, factors affecting diastolic augmentation, indications for use, contraindications, and potential complications of Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump. The course consists of a didactic and hands-on portion. 

  • Successful completion of the course requires:
  • Attendance at the entire course.
  • Completion of the e-learning portion of class.
  • Successful completion of a post-test with a score of 80%.
  • Active participation in the hands-on portion of the course.
  • Completion of an evaluation.

4.5 contact hours are awarded for participants who successfully complete the course (4.5ceu live class time + 1ceu e-learning.)

Participants who do not pass the post-test will have opportunity for remediation and may need to retake the course.

We provide two options for group classes with a minimum of 6 registered students:

  1. Onsite classes - We come to you!
  2. Private classes - Come to our facility! You schedule the date and time.

Replacement Cards 

Please call our office at 973-989-3213.  We will verify your information; and with payment, print and mail a duplicate card.  For BLS Healthcare Provider and Heartsaver CPR/AED and/or HeartSaver First Aid, replacement card cost is $10.00.  For ACLS and PALS replacement card cost is $15.00.
